Diabetes is rarely a disease we hope or plan to live with. When we are imagining, planning and dreaming for a whole hearted life, diabetes is not often a part of the story. The people I am most passionate about working with are those that are finding themselves upset and distressed by life with diabetes (i.e., depressed, anxious, stressed), or feel burned out (or checked out) in their diabetes care. Often, we “know” the things we “should be” doing but find we have been unable to crack the code to enact those actions. The people I work with have often tried to change and have worked incredibly hard but find themselves spinning their wheels. As someone living with Type 1 Diabetes myself, I have been there too. I would be honoured to assist you in finding your next right step to a richer, fuller, more vibrant life with diabetes.
I am a clinical psychologist in Sherwood Park AB. I provide services to adolescents and adults living with diabetes and the parents living with a child who has diabetes. Additionally, group education and workshops are available through my private practice.
For public health care providers, I provide consultation services
